Structural and Computational Biophysics Group
The research groups of Structural Biology at Purdue University seek to obtain a molecular level description of protein and nucleic-acid complexes, protein assemblies, and cellular ultrastructures with the goal of understanding and manipulating biological function. Dynamic and collaborative investigations are underway in diverse areas that include cancer biology, viruses, membrane transport, and cell signaling. These groups utilize and develop methods for a wide variety of experimental (X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, tomography) and computational approaches (bioinformatics, molecular dynamics simulation, artificial intelligence) essential for studying complex problems in biology.
