The Cambridge Structural Database

The Cambridge Structural Database is "the world repository of small molecule crystal structures." (more information...)

Accessing the database

  1. Contact the support staff for the login information.
  2. Login to the server using the information obtained in #1.
  3. Create a unique directory in order to keep your work apart from others:
    # mkdir <your_name>
  4. Change to that directory:
    # cd <your_name>
  5. Type 'cq' to start the Conquest CSD search engine.

If you have conquered O or CCP4i, using the Conquest program is pretty straightforward. If needed, a tutorial can be found here.
